The Session Analytics page can give you a lot of quantitative insights about your sessions, users’ engagement, and usability of your app. Thanks to this, you can find out how many sessions you recorded in the past months, how many new users visited your app in the past weeks, what’s the average rage tap per session after releasing a new app version and many others.
At the top of the screen, you can decide about the time range you want to see the data for. This will also tell you whether your statistics are getting better or worse in comparison to the previous period.
Here you can find out how many sessions you recorded over time. If you choose the time range of last month and you group it by date, e.g. 1 day, you can see on which days your users were less active and when it makes sense to schedule maintenance.
You can also combine groups to get better insights. If you group by country and then city you can see in which cities your users were more active between different countries.
Under the user’s section, you can find out how many users were active in the selected period of time and also how many new users visited your app.
If you select new users and group them by country, you can see in which countries the use of your app is growing. If you are sending user properties, you can group them by properties such as age group and see if there is a difference in the user’s behavior.
The number of crashes can be a really interesting indicator of how good and smooth the experience of your users is. You can see not only how many crashes you had in your app but also what’s the percentage of sessions with crashes. If you group this data by the app version, you can see if the newly released version has improved the reliability of your app.
You can group it by device class and device model to understand better in which specific devices your app is crashing.
Rage taps are defined by more than 3 taps within a certain radius on the screen and at most 300ms between consecutive taps. They present how often users get confused and frustrated in your app. Control the average number of rage taps per session in each app version to make sure that with each release, this metric decreases.
You can also group it by device model to see if there is a problem with a specific device, or by app familiarity to understand if the frustration is just happening at the beginning and you need to improve the onboarding process.

Time in the app
The average session time can give you insights about your users’ engagement. You can check how it has been changing over the past months and whether new features implemented had an impact on it.
You can also understand if users from different cities or countries are engaging more with your app thanks to the grouping, or even analyze if the users spend more time on the first sessions or after they’ve already explored your app if you group by app familiarity.
This is another indicator of your users’ engagement. Check the average number of screens visited per session in the last months and make sure this number is increasing. You can also group it by the app familiarity and see how active your users are in the 1st session in comparison to the next sessions.
