We are excited to inform you about the launch of our completely redesigned dashboard. To learn more about how it aligns with our mission and future goals, please check out this blog post.
The purpose of this guide is to clarify what has changed from the old dashboard to the new one and how you, as a UXCam customer, can opt to transition to the new dashboard.
First things first
You may continue to use the current dashboard without opting to the switch.
You may also use both of these dashboard in conjunction, i.e. you will a) see sessions from an older SDK integration on your current dashboard, but also b) sessions from apps which have been integrated via the new dashboard will appear on the new dashboard. The recordings count from both dashboards are added together and counted towards your quota.
What has changed?
The new dashboard has been built from ground-up to deliver an optimal performance. We significantly improved the speed of the dashboard and of the underlying databases, and also the performance of the SDK.
During this rebuilt process, we have also made certain architectural changes and added a lot of new features. Here is what has changed on the new dashboard:
Organization level control to your apps and account
We have now introduced the concept of organisations on our dashboard, to make the control of your subscription and team members’ access to apps more intuitive and transparent. On the old dashboard, when you had a large number of apps, it was a tedious process and possible source of frustration to provide accesses to an app individually.
Now it is straightforward to grant your team members access to all apps of your organisation or just to individual apps, and also to keep an overview of who sees what.
To use the SDK of the old dashboard with an app, we provide an Account-key to be used on any app. In this approach, the bundle identifier was used as a way to separate between apps. However, when there were multiple apps with the same bundle identifier, one needed to use an additional API to distinguish between apps.
Switch from Account key to App Key
We changed this approach in order to smoothen this process and remove the need for using additional API to distinguish between apps.
On the new dashboard, you will be able to generate a new unique app-key per app integration and use them individually on each app
Newly added features
Advanced Session Replay
We have improved the session replay page with lots of new features including:
- Auto-replay of next sessions in list,
- Select which screens of the sessions you want to replay, to set your own focus of the replay
- Full Screen session replay mode, to show the sessions to the whole team or even on the office wall
- And more.

We now allow you to record a session even when the user is not connected to the internet.
We store the recorded session and upload them after the user connects to a wifi or mobile network.

Advanced Rule based recording
We have improved the rule based recording, enabling you to record session only if different conditions are met. For example:
- Recording Crashed session only
- Recording if user visits certain screen
- Record only if session exceeds a given duration
- Record only if user does a certain event

Our new Screen Analysis tool helps you to identify the most important screens of your app in one glance. Thus you can see the impact of every single screen and optimize them accordingly. See navigation patterns, usage statistics, crashed videos and heatmaps for different device types and selectively watch what happens in all sessions on a particular screen.

Follow the journey and watch all sessions of your users, to understand their typical lifetime. Follow every detail of their onboarding process, and understand their typical usage patterns, e.g. where, at which time of the day and what day of the week they typically use your app. This will help you to smoothen your users’ journey through your app, and get a better understanding of the usage patterns that emerged around your app.

Features not transferred
The features: User Flow, 2 factor authentication and dashboard access based on IP, Sharing and Tagging, which are available on old dashboard are not currently available on the new dashboard:
We will be adding these features in future releases.
How to transitionYour account and team members have already been provided access to the new dashboard. Hence you should already see the “Switch to New dashboard” button now on your old dashboard.
In order to try out the new dashboard and transition to it, please follow the following steps:
- Click the “Switch to New dashboard” button to navigate to the new dashboard.
- Provide a name to your app. You will then see the unique app-key
- Request your development team to update the SDK (3.0.0 and above) and use this new app-key. Once the development team has added the SDK, you will be set to use the new dashboard.
If you have additional question, please reach out to your customer success agent or email email@example.com
We have also scheduled a webinar to explain the transition. Please join us by clicking here.
