How to calculate ratios?

Using Conversion Reports for Ratio Calculations

You can use conversion reports within dashboards to calculate ratios. You can measure various events as a proportion of total sessions and users providing valuable insights into user behavior across your entire user base.

  1. Create a new conversion report from scratch.

  2. Set the first step as "app launch": This ensures that every session or user is included in your calculation. Every user who opens the app triggers this event, making it an ideal baseline.

  3. Choose your second step (conversion event) based on the ratio you want to calculate. For example:

    • To calculate the ratio of failed logins: set the second step as "Login Failed"

    • To calculate the ratio of successful sign-ups: set the second step as "Sign-up Successful"

  4. Select your preferred metric (conversion rate percentage is typically used for ratios).

  5. Choose whether to track unique users or sessions, depending on your analysis needs.

6. Interpret the results: The resulting conversion rate will represent the ratio of sessions where the target event occurred. For instance, if you set "signup failed" as the target event and get a 5% conversion rate, this means that 5% of all sessions experienced a failed signup.
